This morning my heart is saddened as I learn of the passing of Ben. My prayers and deepest condolences to his family. I remember Ben with prayers, love and great affection for who he was. Ben was like that shining star long ago which led people to the birth of Christ in Bethlehem. He was our shi g star, our guiding light pointing out Christ and how to follow him. Never shall a night pass that when I look to the sky to be reminded of Ben shining down upon us. To remind us always of what is most important in life; God, his Son Jesus Christ, family, and friends. May we all offer one another the gift of peace as Ben was the gift of peace from God to all of us. May you rest in peace!

I remember Benny as an always welcoming friend and landlord, who included me in many a delicious Italian dinner. I have fond memories of him. I laugh when I remember how Benny loved to laugh and make others laugh. He had the precious gift of cheerful mirth. Another endearing trait was his directness. You could call him frank. Jesus could have been speaking of Benny as He did of Nathaniel, "Behold an Israelite, in whom there is no guile." You always knew what Benny thought, and I smile when I think of his honesty. When I first rented the second floor of his house, he surprised me by painting my bedroom a favorite color. He wowed my brother and me by quickly fixing a problem with my Ford Taurus. Best of all and most important of all, Benny was a man of faith, faithful to prayer and to the Lord. May Benny now see his Lord face to face. I miss Benny. May Almighty God usher him quickly in where there is no more pain and loss, only mirth, fellowship, and the Beatific Vision we are all made for. May the Infinite Love who moves the stars also comfort and console all his family until they are reunited with Benny in the mansions of the Lord. All my love and best wishes to Benny's family.
