I often think of Elise and the laughs we shared in AHA. I know that her family will dearly miss her and the warmth of her generous spirit. I pray that Elise rests in peace knowing that she was so very much loved and that her spirit continues to watch over Doug and Lea. From AHA to Heaven - you were destined to soar with the Angels.

I have had the honor and pleasure of working with Elise for a little over 30 years. She has always shown great professionalism in her chosen career. We were colleagues and friends. We shared countless hours together on Labor and Delivery, which gave us not only the opportunity to care for patients, but also to just talk. And talk we did.
Elise, above all else, was honest. Fortunately we found common ground discussing a variety of topics from medicine to politics to religion.
We talked about our families. It was evident to me as to how much she loved her husband and daughter . She would also tell me the stories of her travels.
After working on the same unit for so many years, we would fantasize about a career shift. I came across an ad for a full time nurse with a minimum of 20 years experience to work maternity at Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Elise asked me to scout it out for her. I was going to Nantucket anyway, so I arranged for a tour of their Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum/Nursery unit. The nurses worked 12 hour shifts and basically took care of everything from labor to the newborn. Elise did not find this intimidating at all. Then I told her the bad news. They had a whirlpool for labor and not one but three different size balls on which to labor. With this it became too crunchy granola for Elise. So, we both stayed in Englewood.

Doug and Lea-
I am so sorry for your loss. I have thought of Elise many times over the years. Sadly, we lost contact in the busy-ness of life. We attended Englewood Hospital School of Nursing together. I see the same smile in her photos. Back in the day - Elise was so soft-spoken, but what a wicked sense of humor!
God bless you and give you peace, in this time of sadness and loss.

To my dear sister Lisa, we may not have seen eye to eye on many issues but we always had each others back. I am numb. I cannot believe that you are gone. This pain will never go away.
Watch over Doug and Lea, especially now, watch over our family and friends so we can all get through this.

I will miss Elise.
We met as professional co-workers on L & D, and decades later, parted as old friends when I retired.
We collected hundreds of memories and I hold these memories dear. We worked hard, did good work, cared for hundreds of women and their babies, saw the sun come up....and down, laiughed, cried, fought.....and made up and discussed (on end) everything under the sun.
We shared opinions. Agreed. Agreed to disagree. Shared our stories, families, disappointments, failures and successes.
We spent hours on end following each other's postings on FB. I will her opinions on affairs of the day.....always a voice for fairness, woman's issues and medical care.
I valued our friendship.....then and especially now.
So glad to know Elise. She will be missed.

My condolences to Elise's family. I just heard the news and in shock. We worked for many years together at EHMC. Celebrated her retirement and communicated on social media often....so saddened by this news. Prayers to her family.

My deepest condolences to the Radick family. I've known Elise's daughter Lea for about ten years. Lea is a kind, intelligent woman and a very dear friend -- no doubt a reflection of the family and the mother who raised her. From all of Lea's friends from graduate school and here in Chicago, we send our love.
