Obituary of Elise Marie Radick
Radick, Elise M. (Guasti), 66, of Closter, N.J., passed away suddenly at home on Sept. 29, 2017. She was born Jan. 29, 1951, in New York City, to Peter and Lillian (Salussolia) Guasti, and was the oldest of three children. Raised in Cliffside Park, N.J., she attended the Epiphany School, and graduated from the Academy of the Holy Angels, Demarest, N.J., in 1968. She went on to graduate in 1972 from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, N.J., with a BA in Romance Languages; in 1975 from Englewood Hospital School of Nursing, Englewood, N.J., with a school of nursing diploma (RN) ; and in 2002 from St. Peter's University, Englewood Cliffs, N.J., with a BSN. She worked as a registered nurse in Labor and Delivery at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, Englewood, N.J., from 1975 until her retirement in December 2015. During her 40-year career, she cared for countless women and their babies as she helped usher new lives into the world. She loved art, animals, cooking, plants and flowers, music and travel. She cared deeply about others, near and far, and approached life with curiosity, sensitivity and humor. She always will be loved and missed. Elise is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Douglas A. Radick, also of Closter, N.J.; her cherished daughter, Lea E. Radick, of Chicago; her loving mother, Lillian, of New Milford, N.J.; her dear sisters, Sandra (Joseph) Bonardi, of New Milford, N.J., and Loretta (Peter) Finn, of Leonia, N.J.; and her precious cats, Boo and Pumpkin. She was predeceased by her father, Peter, in 2010. A private viewing was held Oct. 1 for family preceding cremation. A memorial brunch will be held in her honor on Oct. 14 at 12:00 p.m. at the Clinton Inn Hotel & Event Center, 145 Dean Drive, Tenafly, N.J. 07670.
