Obituary of Daniel Boccia

Boccia, Daniel, age 97, of Fort Lee, on Saturday December 16, 2017. Born in Sassano, Italy he immigrated to the United States in 1927 and was a resident of Brooklyn. He served his country in World War II in the Army/Air Corps. He was owner of R&S Vending of North Bergen. Upon retiring the business world he served Fort Lee as a Crossing Guard for 25 years. There is a plaque dedicated to his service in the Fort Lee Police Department. A true humanitarian who was involved in youth projects including the Fort Lee Little League and providing assistance to the youth of Hudson County. Proud members of the Fort Lee Main Street Seniors Citizens Center. He will be remembered for his smile, laughter, kindness and his passion for music and dancing. Beloved husband of the late Marie (nee: Bruno). Devoted father of Marie Kiley, Linda Galati, Diana Marcoux, Barbara Boccia and Daniel Boccia, Jr. and his wife Joyce and the late Louis Boccia. Cherished grandfather of Tommy, Brad, Lauren, Kurt, Georgia, Bob, Krystal, Nicole, Renee and Gina. Adored great grandfather of Peyton and Miller. Dear brother of the late Frances Cammarano and Joseph Boccia. The family will receive their friends on Friday from 10:00 – 11:30 am at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave at 11:30 AM for the celebration of his funeral mass in St. Nicholas R.C. Church at 12 noon. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place , Memphis, TN 38105.
