Obituary of Jan A Cousins

Jan Cousins, 69 of Ft. Lee, NJ, passed away on April 13th, 2018, with her family by her side.  Jan was born in Brooklyn, NY, on March 30, 1949 to Lucille Shine and Richard Cousins.

A graduate of Francis Lewis H.S. in Queens, she attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and graduated from the Englewood Hospital School of Radiology. She worked for several years as an x-ray technician. She also worked as an appraiser with Albert Appraisal Company. She later graduated from Katherine Gibbs in Montclair, NJ, and worked as an administrative assistant for Kwasha Lipton, Helicon and Modernfold Styles. Jan retired in 2013 and had been enjoying her retirement ever since.

Jan was an avid reader and got to know the Englewood and Ft. Lee library staffs very well. She loved spending time in the sun and had a year-round healthy glow. She enjoyed many happy times spent with family at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She was a patriotic American, proudly displaying the flag on her car at all times. She was very proud of her brother-in-law Chris' and both nephews (Josh Bubczyk and Josh Ginn) service in the Navy and Army. Jan alone was responsible for cheering up many, many people during her adult years. She supported the greeting card companies by purchasing cards for any and all occasions, which she sent out diligently to those she cared about. Anyone who received her cards knew they could look forward to the mail for holidays, birthdays or if they were under the weather.

Jan leaves to cherish her memory her sisters Lisa Bubczyk (and her husband Christian), and Betsy Cousins-Coleman (and her husband Gordon Coleman), her aunt, Vera Albert, nephew Joshua Bubczyk (and his husband Richard), and nieces Elysia Ginn (and her husband Josh,) Danielle Cousins-Coleman, Jessica Cousins-Coleman, Chloe Ginn, cousins Anthony Albert, Joe and Yoko Albert, and Jeanne Albert, and many other cousins and life-long friends.

A memorial service will be held in the future.
